Nintendo DS Lite 20-In-1 Starter Kit - Cobalt Reviews

The compact, yet functional size of the case (approx. 6 x 3.75 x 1.5) allows me to drop it in my purse and have my DS Lite on hand at all times for any unexpected down-time...ex. waiting around while having your car serviced. The cobalt blue color makes it stylish and I have found the case to be very durable and well made.
I like the idea of the individual game holders and although the kit comes with four of them, there is room to fit 6 games in the case along with the headphones. This might be a tight fit for some, but again, I'm not wanting to accomodate a carry-on sized bag just to carry around my DS.
The extras that come with the starter kit are "nice to haves". The stand charger has a really cool blue glowing light when plugged in and is not at all flimsy. I would highly recommend this starter kit for Adult DS Lite owners such as myself.

If you take a close look at most of the reviews, you'll notice that most were written by people who reviewed based on their first gut reaction after receiving the starter kit or those who gave the kit as a gift. Well, I am reviewing it as an actual user of the kit. While there are certainly useful items in the kit, I would caution buyers to think twice before buying the entire kit because of the risk of lowering game console's performance and voiding the Nintendo warranty.
Here's my review for the components:
1. Headphones -- These reminds me of the semi-disposable headphones you get on the airplane. In fact, the way to "adjust" the length of the ear bud cords is to pull apart the ear buds like you do with those semi-disposable headphones, permanently splitting the main cord into two for as far down as you want. The ear buds are not cushioned and are not terribly comfortable. That said, you're probably not buying this kit for the headphones so it's not a deal breaker in my mind.
2. Audio Splitter -- I can't figure out when one would need to use this. For multi-player games, wouldn't each person have their own console and thus, needing their own earphones plugged to their own game console? I can understand the the need for an audio splitter for Nintendo DSi to use its music player function.
3. Neck Strap -- Nice to have. I personally don't wear the game/case around my neck.
4. Car Adapter -- For those constantly on the go who need to charge their Nintendo while they're driving or flying.
5. Docking Station -- Totally unnecessary. Looks neat, I guess, on a table.
6. Soft Protective Case -- First of all, I wouldn't call the case soft like neoprene soft. It's semi-hard, which is a good thing. The design would have been better if it had included a zipper compartment for accessories instead of a mash/elastic holder. It is a compact case. Mine feels stuffed holding the console, an extra stylus, the charger, and earphones. Good quality.
7. Finger-tip styluses -- These sounds fun/interesting as a concept, as an alternative to using the pen-shape stylus. There are two major problems though. The first is that the elastic strap isn't adjustable so it might not stay on your finger tightly enough to offer you good control over movements on the screen. Second, this is not an Nintendo licensed/sold accessory. You risk voiding your game unit's warranty if you use these finger-tip stylus on the touchscreen.
8. Screen Protectors -- The product description said I'd get 5 protectors but I am pretty sure I got 4. Regardless, this is one accessory that I would caution people NOT to use. The application instructions are unclear/confusing but it's not too difficult to figure out how to apply the protectors. You just need to be patient, have clean fingers, and apply them in a lint-free environment. The bigger problem is that if you apply these protectors, you will reduce the sensitivity of the touch screen. Mine was on airtight (no bubbles) but I found myself having to press the screen so much harder with the stylus to play a game. Had I continue to use my game unit with these screen protectors, I would have had a higher risk of getting repetitive motion injury. To show you how hard I had to press to get the screen to respond, I saw many light scratches on the screen protector after just 6 hours of playing; the pressure also made slight weird air pockets between the protector and the screen even though I had made an airtight application. Thankfully, I was able to remove the protectors without damaging the screens themselves and without leaving a sticky residue.
Although screen protectors sound good as a concept, I have read somewhere that Nintendo really went out of their way to coat/produce an excellent touch screen so that it is responsive and can withstand substantial playing (with Nintendo produced stylus). Once again, keep in mind that the protectors are not Nintendo licensed so if you apply them to your unit and end up damaging the screen somehow, your warranty is void.
I bought this kit for .99. Should have just gotten the Nintendo official zip case for .99 on Amazon. Sometimes, more is not better.

Nintendo DS G-pak Organizer Black Reviews

I was really excited to get this product once I found out how many games it holds. I have no idea why it's so difficult to find a case that holds more than a few DS games, especially given their small size, but it is. This case will hold 30 DS games and a bunch of GBA games. There isn't room for much else inside--just 2 dividers and space for maybe your DS, its charger, and maybe headphones or a car charger--but it does have a zipper pocket on the outside that will hold some smaller stuff (maybe a couple more games, a stylus or two, screen protectors, etc).
The problem I had with this product is that the games were difficult, for me at least, to get in and out of the mesh slots. It's a pretty tight fit, and I was only able to get 4 games per row (each row should hold 5) without forcing the 5th one more than I was comfortable with. Since the slots won't hold games in cases the contacts are left exposed, which concerns me given the difficulty in getting the games in their slots in the first place. I also noticed that it was pretty tough to get games out of the 2nd or 3rd rows when the 1st row was fully loaded. The mesh, which is black, and the elastic also partially block the title on most games, so its tough to see which game is where unless you actually pull them partly out or only put them in about 3/4 of the way when you're loading them.
These issues won't be a problem for some people, and are certainly better than the alternative of just leaving the games lying around or cramming them into the nooks and crannies of other DS cases. For me, however, the pain in getting games in and out was enough to dampen my enthusiasm for having more game storage, and I'll be returning this product and buying more plastic cases instead. If the ability to store a ton of games is your absolute top priority and you're willing to tolerate the inconvenience of inserting and removing them this case may be for you--but personally I'll keep looking for a better solution.

This is the best case I've found for my DS Lite that also handles a LOT of games. In fact, there are DS-sized, individual webbed pockets for holding each DS game... 30 of them. Too bad the rows are sewn crookedly, some of the pockets are sewn too narrowly to fit a DS game, and others are sewn so badly the mesh is ripped, making them useless. Out of the 30 pockets, I can use maybe 25. Of course, that's better than what I had before... but since I have over 30 DS games, I end up using some of the double wide mesh pockets that look like they're intended for GBA games. Thankfully, I have a decent GBA case for my GBA and its games, so I can use these GBA mesh pockets for DS games.
I give it the 3 stars simply because it does hold the most games of any other case I've found without being bulky, and it will also hold my DS snuggly as well as the charger pack and the headphones I have. The case itself is not super large either, being about the size of your average trade paperback in size and thickness. It's also got velcro attachments inside making it somewhat "modular" so that you can divide the case up into three sections of whatever size you want.
If the cartridge pockets just weren't so poorly made...

Nintendo DS Game Card Case 16 - Black Reviews

The search for this type of product all started when I realized that I had collected more than a handful of games (I have 17, and 1 on order), so I couldn't keep up with them all loose or in a plastic baggie. Most importantly, to all gamers like myself, to misplace them. I pre-ordered this item, liking the small size, it didn't look like it would take up much room in my purse, plus, I really liked the fact that it held so many games. Needless to say, the case passed my test. I'm pretty strict about what protects my games and/or systems so this is a very good buy. The case is small, almost 8 and a half inches height and width-wise. It holds games very securely, so no worry about loose games. If dropped, the case sometimes pops open, but all games stay inside. (I did test that.) The pages inside that holds the games are removable so you can store loose games in there if you want. (Removing both pages makes more storage space if you need it, but the games rattle) Remember how you had to remove a DS game from the case when you bought it? Putting the games in and taking them out has that safety feature and its the same concept. (Push from the ouside in to remove the game) Rattling is not a problem, every game is safe and secure. A great buy! Once I buy a few more games, I'm going to purchase another case, way too cute to pass up!

I just received this case as an early birthday present, and I have to say, I am very impressed. The case is compact, and fits nicely in my "young lady" hands. The games are securely kept in place, however, it can be a challenge to get them out (this might be seen as a good thing, though, like if you drop the case by accident, then none of them will come out). The case itself is kind of hard to open, and it does get easier, but it depends on how tightly you close it (make sure you press it all the way for ultimate safety). Overall this is a great case, and I highly recommend it to anyone whose game collection is growing.
Pros: Very sturdy, holds 16 games, decently compact, high-quality plastic
Cons: Hard to open and get games out

Nintendo DS Lite G-pak Organizer Coral Pink Reviews

It is easy to see why a lot of individuals purchase this case. In fact, we have purchased two. We own both the pink and gray versions. It is about the size of an old-fashioned metal lunch box from the late 70s. Perhaps it is not as deep, but I think the total volume is probably comparable.
There is plenty of room inside for 2 DS units (or we store 1 DS and 1 video iPod). In addition, each case SHOULD have enough room to hold 30 DS games plus 6 GBA games inside a removable Velcro wallet. No need to worry about the wallet falling out; the Velcro holds very securely. On the exterior of the case, there is a side pocket for the power cord (or even more games).
The problem (with both of our cases) is that the width the seamstress (or robot) used for the wallet slots was not always standard or uniform for the DS game slots. The GBA game slots are perfect. In some cases, the DS slots in the wallet are too narrow to accommodate a DS cartridge. At this time, we don't own 30 DS games, nor do I think I would ever trust my children enough to tote around approx. ,000 worth of hardware/software. So, really it is a fairly minor issue.
At this time a few of the slots are ripped and torn from (me) forcing games into slots that are too small. By the time I get my DS, I am hoping they resolve this issue. I tend to be a tad more anal retentive than either of my DS wielding children.
BTW, a couple of items on the pink version. Our 5-year old daughter uses it almost as much as a play purse as she does a DS storage tote. She absolutely loves the fact she has something cool, just like her big brother. I would not hesitate to purchase this item again, but if you have 30 DS games you need to tote around, then this may not be the ideal solution for you.

I really liked everything about this case save the thing that hold your games. Mine was so tight it was hard to get any of the games out. It might no be too bad if you don't mind struggling to get them in and out but it got to be such a hassle because I tend to switch games a lot. Also if you like to keep your games in any kind of order it's a nightmare to add a new game. I could easily get all my stuff and then some into this case. If it weren't for the game holder this would be almost perfect! If you are looking for something to keep your system in order this is great but I'd have to give the game holder a poor rating. So basically a GREAT case that includes a BAD game holder.

This AC Adapter for the Nintendo DS Lite is identical to the one that comes included with the game system.
One nice feature is that the prongs of the plug swivel in and out. This means that, when folded in, the unit is fairly thin and easy to store. It seems well made and sturdy, even with the moving part.

the AC adapter comes with the game, although the site did not make that clear...so now I have two...not sure if I can return it....tbd.

Nintendo DS Lite Super Case (Colors May Vary) Reviews

This is a great little bag if you want a compact storage case to hold your DS essentials.
There are 3 sections to the bag. The lightly padded back section holds the DS on the left and the charger on the right. The two areas are separated so nothing scratches the DS. If you have a Game Boy cartridge in the DS, you'll have a hard time getting it in but the fit is nice if you only have a DS cartridge installed.
The middle section has plastic slots for 9 DS games. They are held in firmly. My 8-year-old says they are easy to get in, my 10-year-old says it's a bit tough. The 8-year-old uses his case more so the slots might be a bit more stretched out but I can shake the bag upside down and the games don't fall out. The opposite flap has a zippered pocket for storage. You can store a couple Game Boy cartridges or styluses loosely there. This whole middle section is closed securely with a zipper.
The front section, just under the flap, has an open pouch. The only protection of things falling out from this area is the flap and the latch.
The color we received was a bit different than what shows on the Amazon site. It was more of a slate blue. It's a nice color, just not as bright.
The Intec part number for this is G1835. Just Google "Intec G1835" and you'll find some sites that show a picture of the inside of the bag.
Overall a nice, compact bag.

I bought this case for my young kids to keep their DS games, DS unit and charging cord together. This case is durable, well-made, and the perfect size to hold all of the DS essentials and more. I would highly recommend this bag.

Nintendo DS Lite 20-In-1 Starter Kit - Black Reviews
